Reverse Chord Finder Pro App Reviews

Amazing short cut

One of the best apps you can buy if you use any altered tuning for guitar.

Absolute delivery.

I never review apps, but I had to drop the hammer here. You will save so much time if, like me, you come up with crazy chords and need to categorize them to lay down better melodies. This app is accurate, and worth much more than its sold for...$20 for a cheap tuner...$10 for better playing!

Best of its kind, want some additional features

Do you need to find what chord you are playing on guitar, piano, bass, etc...? Awesome, you found it. This app is quick, intuitive, and even gives enmarmonic equivalents to see what you might want to throw in your changes for writing purposes. Spot on, you need this one, whether youre a beginner instrumentalist or a seasoned vet out to transpose that hit riff into the change. A couple of things that would spice up an update for this would be: a chord finder...it seems so natural to want to pick a key and have it show us the notes, but alas, its mainly built to do the reverse of that (hence the name). Wed also love to see a quick-swap tuning button. That is, when we pick an instrument and tuning, and then switch back, it stays on the last one set, so there is no way to compared quickly. Would be great if there were simply selection buttons to switch back and forth between all tuning types, with corespondent sound output (i.e. 6 string with gtr sound, 5 string with bass, piano tuning with piano sound, etc...without losing your original note settings). Anyway, great app, thank you! Kudos...

Love it.

Essential song-wring tool!

Absolutely great tool for songwriting anytime, anywhere!

A wonderful tool for songwriting, especially when no where near an instrument! Perfect for harmonizing and theory development.

A songwriters best friend!

This app is great. I cant tell you how many times Ive been writing a song in an alternate tuning, with a capo, or just coming up with a sequence of notes for its sound and not knowing what chord I was playing. Now all I do Id grab my iPhone and highlight the notes on the virtual guitar and it tells me the name of the chord. This is a must when trying figure out what key your crazy chord may be in. There are a lot if worthless apps designed for musicians, but this is one of the handful that I actually use, and find to be incredibly helpful.

Great concept....but

I go t the original version and loved it but hated it was listed for iPad but is in iPhone resolution. Purchased pro for 9.99. Being called pro you would think it would be ready for iPad. Nope. Still has iPhone resolution. So what did I pay for. A light bump in fretboard size. Hope the true iPad version is free, but not hopeful.

excellent beginning, overpriced

The dev may no longer be working this app apart from bug fixes/os updates (which makes the price curious), but here goes... ----------------------- Dont get me wrong, its the best of its kind, but not by far. There are other apps that will take you to this point, though the simplicity of basic use along with a sensible interface are a big plus. And its probably enough if youre playing simple songs and need one or two chords, or if you have an amazing memory. (In which case you probably wouldnt need this, youd already "get" it.) ----- BUT ----- In the interest of meaningful learning and retention... - There really does need to be a quicker way to access the chords in the favorites folder without bouncing back out to the list for each change. Ideally appearing either randomly or in an order that can be edited in the folder. Helpful for chord progressions, memorization and understanding of related chord "families." - With the above, ability to arrange chords in multiple sets and flick through in the order theyre stored would be huge. Again for setting up seperate progressions and related chords. - A quiz function would be lovely. Nothing fancy, just randomly presenting chords from a folder. Wouldnt even have to hide the chord name... a little discipline would do it. - And an option to hide the reduntant 2nd line of the naming section @ the top would be nice... after a while you shouldnt need to be told that "G/D" means "G Major, second inversion." At least as an option. --------- With these additions it would NOT be an overpriced app.

Generally Helpful App

I have been using the app for about 6 months. Works as promised and is helpful in a limited fashion which makes it cost a lot for limited use. But I knew that when I bought it.

Band

Helped figure out all our weird voicings gloriously.

ESSENTIAL, perfect, HANDY

All I wanted was to know what it is... time after time as I work a song out by ear... cant depend on any tabs that are completely re-written by the time Ive gone through one. No worries about www connections, getting up to get computer, charts, stuff - its in my iPhone and instant, easy, never a glitch... worth it and more than any others found. Thank you

Great app

For someone who is just learning piano I find this very helpful to understand chord theory.

Very pleased!

I am a beginning guitarist. Essential app, must buy!

Best musicians app

Fantastic. Amazing to be able to actually have extended range instruments included.

This app is a Godsend

This app is great! I write most of the songs in my band, but Im not good with theory. I often use an alternate tuning and a capo, and this app figures out any weird chord you can come up with. Definitely recommend.

Great tool! Needs iPhone 5 display update!

This is an amazing tool for any musician. Well worth the price of admission (come on... for the price of 2 or 3 Starbucks drinks you have endless music theory knowledge at your fingertips). The only thing it needs is an update for the iPhone 5 that utilizes the extra screen height. Why not show 2 more frets?

Awesome app!!!!

I have been wanting something like this for more than 20 years when I got my first Snarling Dogs chord computer. If you create many of the chords you play by ear, this is a must! Well done!

Fabulous!

Exactly what I was looking for. The score option is fabulous. Thank you!!!

I Like It!

As a relative newbee to the piano, I find this app on my iPhone to be quite helpful

Chord finder

Great tool to use when working your way through a piece instead of going to a book. A nice enhancement would be to have a mode where the user can just play any notes of a chord or melody without the notes going blue. Other apps do this but would be nice to not have to switch. I would pay for that.
